Space Placement dialog

A secondary dialog to the Space Planning tool dialog, the Space Placement dialog contains controls for manipulating the program space's dimensions and placement point.

Opens when selecting from Space Planning dialog for single spaces or when placing multiple spaces.

Note: Both place spaces with the areas defined by the programmed areas in the spaces list. For multiple selection, the first space in the selection is placed first followed by the second and third, etc. until all spaces selected are placed.
SettingDescription
Dimensions The dimensions options appear for single space placement. By default, the program area is maintained while the length and width vary.
  • Length — Used for specifying a length (X axis) for the shape representing the space. If the Area field is locked, changes made here affect the Width value.
  • Width — Used for specifying a width (Y axis) for the shape representing the space. If the Area field is locked, changes made here affect the Length value.
  • Area — Initialized with the program area value as seen in the Space Planning dialog. This value is maintained unless the lock icon is clicked.
  • Area lock — Locked by default, unlocking enables the Area value field.
Attachment Sets the placement point used for placing the shapes or solids representing spaces. Nine placement points are available.
Options The Space Placement dialog changes when placing multiple spaces. Several spacing options arrange the spaces in rows.
  • Number of spaces per row — Sets the maximum number of spaces placed per row.
  • Placement distance between spaces — Defines the distances between placed spaces.
